Sanitizer production training in Tulsipur



DANG: Tulsipur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI) organized a two-day sanitizer production training in Tulsipur to overcome shortage through local production and equip the municipality to stem COVID-19 pandemic spread.

The training is part of a series of COVID-19 related activities supported by USAID which also includes training to healthcare workers, production of sanitizer and disinfectant and media awareness campaign.

Participated in by 50 volunteers from different organizations, the sub-metropolis will produce 1,250 liters of sanitizer to be freely distributed to all 19 wards of Tulsipur Sub Metropolis.

“Support from USAID’s Improved Disaster Risk Management Program-Tayar Nepal has helped us to take early actions on preparedness and rapid response to COVID-19,” said Bir Bahadur Rawat, President of TCCI.

The funding is part of USAID’s 33.5 million disaster risk reduction and management program for Nepal to strengthen the capacity of national and sub-national institutions working on disaster-risk- reduction and management to better prepare for and respond to disasters.

USAID’s Tayar Nepal said the project works with the Government of Nepal, selected municipalities, the private sector, and other stakeholders to jointly improve Nepal’s preparedness, response, and recovery actions.
