Immunization services resumed at local levels



KATHMANDU: The local governments have resumed basic immunization services to children across the country.

Immunization was suspended after the enforcement of the nationwide lockdown on March 24 to prevent coronavirus pandemic.

Several local levels have started immunization services after the Ministry of Health and Population’s instruction to that end.

The Ministry had two weeks back announced the resumption of the immunization.

Several local governments have already started providing the basic immunization services to infants and children, while some are in the process of doing so.

The Ministry of Health has urged all local levels to run the immunization campaign.

It has urged local levels to maintain a distance of at least three feet to six feet while conducting the immunization.

As many as six hundred 20 thousand children are immunized under this program every year throughout the country, the Ministry stated.

The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has initiated the resumption of immunization service from KMC Ward No. 15 on Tuesday.
