Lack of coordination among powerful countries to fight Coronavirus worries Actor Hamal

KATHMANDU: Nepali Cine Actor Rajesh Hamal has expressed his worry about the lack of cooperation among the powerful nations to defeat Coronavirus pandemic.

Posting a video on his social media account, actor Hamal has said it is worrisome that powerful countries like America and China could not stand together in times of crisis caused by the novel virus.

He further said that it was painful that the World Health Organization (WHO), which has to work meritoriously to solve the current crisis, has been blamed for not doing their job properly and even a powerful nation decided to withdraw its funding to the organization.

Recently, American President Donald Trump formally announced that he would cut off the funding to the organization accusing the latter of failing to perform its basic duty in response to Coronavirus outbreak.

In the current crisis, powerful nations should not fight and quarrel, Hamal stated.

“This is the high time that the powerful nations collaborated with other nations and worked together to defeat the common enemy of humankind from the world, but it hasn’t been so,” he said.

At a time when the world is in crisis, powerful countries should forget the political enmity and should unite to solve the common problem, said the actor.

Although the good thing is that so far only a few cases have been seen in Nepal, there are still many challenges out there, said Hamal.

Broke out in Wuhan City of China last December, the deadly virus has spread to 210 countries including two international conveyances across the world, killing 197, 074 and infecting 2,827, 981 people as of Saturday morning.
