COVID-19 infected Jamatis were involved in preaching locals

UDAYAPUR: With the COVID-19 infection verification in 12 out of 16 people taking shelter in a mosque in Triyuga-3, Bhulke, Udayapur, the local government has sealed the mosque and restricted the movement of people from Friday evening. Yet the locals are worried at the fact that the Jamatis had been to the community preaching morality.

After finding the 12 out of 16 Jamatis sheltering in the Bhulke based mosque in Udayapur infected with coronavirus, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force has encircled the area to restrict the movement of the people and prevent COVID-19 transmission to others.

Ast. Chief District Officer of Udayapur Bhim Prasad Bhattarai defended the move as the one taken to prevent transmission. “We have delimited the area with security forces to prevent the transmission from one place to another,” Bhattarai informed, “ If it’s not checked on time, the outbreak can be horrible. So, we took strict measures.”

The infected people had been preaching the locals to abstain from drinking. “As the infected people were found to have preached the public, we fear transmission has reached to the public, so we have locked the area,” he said.

He added that the administration was trying to identify the people who had come into contact with them.
