One more Nepali dies from Coronavirus in UK



LONDON: One more Nepali national has died from Coronavirus in the United Kingdom (UK).The deceased has been identified as 65-year-old Lakshin Bahadur Gurung.

Gurung, who was hospitalized after he complained of high fever and dry cough,  succumbed to the deadly virus while undergoing treatment at a hospital based at Reading in Berkshire on Monday morning.

He tested for the novel virus after he was hospitalized and was being treated on a ventilator for the past one week.

Originally from Ghandruk, Kaski, Gurung had been staying in Britain with his wife and two daughters.

Retired British Gurkha army, Gurung had served as the chairman of Ghandruk Society, Reading few years back.

A total of nine Nepali people including six former Gurkah armies have died from the deadly virus so far.

The United Kingdom (UK) has reported 717 new deaths taking total death toll to 11, 329 as of Tuesday morning.

With 4, 342 new cases, the number of infection cases has surged to 88, 621, according to Worldometer.

Currently, 76, 948 people are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country, of which 1, 559 are critical.

Broke out in Wuhan City of China, the deadly virus has spread to 210 countries including two international conveyances across the world, killing 119, 568 and infecting 1,922,926 people as of Tuesday morning.
