WASHINGTON: Former aide to Joe Biden has accused the Democratic presidential nominee of sexually assaulting her during 1990s when he was a senator.
Biden’s campaign, however, denies the charges.
In an interview with the Associated Press, Biden’s former aide Tara Reade alleged that the assault occurred in the basement of a Capitol Hill office building in 1993.
Reade filed a police report in Washington saying that she had become the victim of a sexual assault by an unnamed person.
Reade had made an accusation against former vice president Biden last year also.
Biden’s deputy campaign manager Kate Bedingfield, meanwhile, said Biden has ‘dedicated his public life to changing the culture and the laws around violence against women’.
Bedingfield said the claim was untrue.
