Lightning kills a woman



SANKHUWASABHA: An elderly woman was killed when she was struck by lightning at Panchkhapan in Sankhuwasabha last night, police said.

The incident happened when Dambar Kumari Rai, 52, was staying at her home.

She died on the spot when the lightning hit her, according to the District Police Office, Sankhuwasabha.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Mim Lama stated that the body was brought to the District Hospital for post mortem.

Meanwhile, an elderly man was killed in a buffalo attack.

The deceased has been identified as Tularam Gurung, 64, of Khandbari municipality-11 in Sankhuwasabha district.

The domestic buffalo attacked Gurung leading to death while it was being taken to shed nearby the home, police said. The man died on the spot.
