Coronavirus: Advice for vulnerable people



KATHMANDU: Coronavirus can show some mild symptoms. However, for elderly people and those with underlying health condition, symptoms can be serious.

Meanwhile, those affected are advised to stay at home and avoid face-to-face contact for at least 12 weeks.

People under vulnerable group:

Recipients of solid organ transplant

People having chronic heart disease

People having chronic kidney disease

People having chronic liver disease or hepatitis

People having chronic neurological conditions, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis

People with cancers undergoing active chemotherapy or radical radiotherapy

People with blood cancers or bone marrow such as lymphoma, leukaemia or myeloma

People with immunotherapy

People with respiratory conditions including severe asthma, cystic fibrosis, and severe COPD

People with rare diseases and inborn errors of metabolism

Pregnant women with heart disease, acquired or congenital

People with chronic respiratory diseases, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, or bronchitis

People with weakened immune system

How to shield?

Avoid contact with someone who has symptoms of coronavirus such as high temperature, continuous dry cough

Do not leave the house

Do not attend gatherings such as weddings, religious services, and other get-together

Do not go for shopping, travel or leisure

Use remote technology such as internet, phone, and social media.
