Nepal reports no new COVID-19 case in past one week

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population on Saturday stated that no new case of coronavirus has been confirmed in Nepal for the straight one week.

Nepal on last Saturday had reported three cases of COVID-19, taking the total case to nine.

Speaking at a regular press briefing, Spokesperson Bikash Devkota said that 897 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, adding that all the reports came negative.

The Kathmandu-based National Public Health Laboratory tested 609 samples while labs outside Kathmandu tested 288 samples in the past 24 hours, according to Spokesperson Devkota.

Nepal has conducted 4,426 tests for COVID-19 so far and out of them, nine cases were confirmed.

Spokesperson Devkota further informed that 8,082 people are currently quarantined across the country, while 82 have been put in isolation.

A total of 15 coronavirus suspects have been put in isolation in Kathmandu Valley and 68 outside the Valley.
