India to supply hydroxychloroquine to 13 countries including Nepal

KATHMANDU: India has given clearance for the supply hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) to 13 countries including Nepal.

Anti-malarial drug Hydroxychloroquine is being seen as a ‘game-changer’ in the fight against COVID-19 and its demand has surged globally after it was found that the medicine benefiting COVID-19 patients.

India is the biggest HCQ manufacturer with a production capacity of over 350 million tablets per month and several countries have asked for its supply.

Besides Nepal, India will be exporting the medicine to Bhutan, Bangladesh, the Maldives and Afghanistan in South Asia. India will be exporting medicines to Spain and Germany among other countries.

India has already sent enough medicines to the USA.
