KATHMANDU: The government has decided to extend the visa for foreigners who couldn’t return their countries after Nepal enforced lockdown to contain the spread of COVID-19.

They will not be entitled to any fee for the visa extension.

Their visas will be extended to equal days the lockdown will be enforced, according to Nepal Tourism Board.

A meeting of the High-Level Coordination Committee on the Prevention and Containment of COVID-19 held on Thursday had taken a decision to that effect.

Most of the European countries have already evacuated their citizens from Nepal through chartered flights.
