KATHMANDU: The main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) has demanded the government to extend the scope of the COVID-19 test after Nepal reported a first locally reported case on Saturday.

In a statement issued today, Spokesperson Bishwo Prakash Sharma has stated that additional precautions need to be implemented as COVID-19 infection in Nepal has entered the second stage of transmission.

“We appeal to the government to immediately carry out COVID-19 tests on family members, neighbors and friends of COVID-19 patients,” reads the statement.
