US to conduct second repatriation flight on Sunday

KATHMANDU: The US Embassy in Kathmandu said that it will conduct a second repatriation flight to the US on Sunday.

“Overnight we received the very good news that our request for a second repatriation flight to the U.S. was approved. So, we can now confirm a 12:15 pm departure for the charter flight on Sunday, April 5, operated by Qatar Airways,” the Embassy stated in a health alert.

The statement added that the embassy is looking like it will be able to accommodate all US citizens from whom it heard they have a high commitment to join this flight.

“This is a great relief for us to be able to accommodate the remaining number of interested U.S. citizens. It also confirms for us that there will not be a need to request a third repatriation flight at this time,” the statement added.

The USA on Tuesday had evacuated its 302 citizens from Nepal through a flight of Qatar Airways. They reached the USA after a stopover at Doha, Qatar.
