JHAPA: The Nepal Red Cross Society, Jhapa district chapter, has urged one and all to voluntarily donate blood.

The Red Cross made the appeal after facing acute shortage of blood in the district.

District chair Lokraj Dhakal said the blood shortage may create crisis in this critical hour if blood donation campaign was not announced soon.

The blood is required for the emergency operation, dialysis and such other critical cases in the hospitals but we have no stock, he added.

The Birtamode based blood bank is supplying blood to B and C Hospital, Birta City Hospital, Kankai Hospital, Kanchanjanga Hospital, Sanjeevani Hospital, and Manmohan Community Hospital, among others.

But now the blood bank is facing acute shortage of blood. The blood bank has only 12 pint of blood in stock, Dhakal said.
