Ex-King Shah donates Rs 20 million to COVID-19 Infection Prevention Fund



KATHMANDU: Former King Gyanendra Shah has donated Rs 20 million to a government fund to fight COVID-19.

Issuing a statement on Tuesday, Shah said he has donated the amount to the government’s Coronavirus Infection Prevention, Control and Treatment Fund through Himani Trust, a trust run by former Crown Princess Himani Shah.

In the statement, the former King has termed lockdown as a compulsory imperative to contain the spread of COVID-19 and has urged all to abide by it.
