JHAPA: Inmates in the district jail of Jhapa have submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli urging for their release and safety in view of deadly coronavirus outbreak.

The memorandum has been sent to the PM via District Administration Office.

They have demanded the cutting remaining jail term also in line with the constitutional provision of exemption to the inmates completing 40 percent term and having good conduct.

They have also drawn the attention of bodies concerned, reasoning it would be fatal if the coronavirus outbreak reached the overcrowded jail.
