COVID-19: 213 people in quarantines in Syangja

SYANGJA: A total of 213 individuals have stayed in self and home quarantine in Syangja district, the officials confirmed.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of District Police Office, Syangja Nabin Krishna Bhandari said that those 213 people living in quarantines had returned from different countries after the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.

So far, 19 are living in quarantine, one in self-quarantine and 193 are in home quarantine, Bhandari added.

Similarly, DSP Bhandari said that records of those coming home from foreign countries are being collected with the support of the local levels and police administration.

The number of people living in quarantines could go up as the search for those returnees is expedited at the local levels, it is said.

Likewise, six people of Syangja, who landed in Kathmandu in the same plane traveled by 19-year-old lady COVID-19 patient, have stayed in quarantines, Chief District Officer of Syangja Ram Bahadur Kurumbang said.

Of the six, a youth is from Phedikhola Rural Municipality and the swab specimens of the youth and two other members of his family are sent to the central laboratory in Kathmandu, rural municipality Chairman Ghanshyam Subedi said.

Meanwhile, the district police have taken 49 vehicles under control on Wednesday and Thursday after the drivers breached the lockdown order.
