HETAUDA: The Bagmati State’s high-level committee on prevention and control of COVID-19 has called on all concerned to continue the supply of essential goods.

Issuing a press release following the committee meeting on Tuesday, the State’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law called on the concerned transport entrepreneurs to continue the supply of daily essentials like medicines, foods, fuel, drinking water and milk.

The State government has however requested everyone not to leave homes except for the essential cases. Similarly, only the vehicles with a permit and those of medical and health workers are allowed to ply on the road, the Ministry undersecretary Narayan Prasad Pokhrel stated in the press release.

Meanwhile, the District Police Makwanpur said the public life remained normal on the first day of the lockdown.

However, the police held 38 motorcyclists who were defying lockdown in the district.
