PUNE: Police in India have arrested a Nepali national and remanded to police custody for assaulting his wife and two sons at their Kondhwa residence near Buddha Vihar.

The man identified as Ekendra Ramsingh Bika, 30, is a native of Accham in Nepal.

Bika’s wife, the complainant, has been identified as 23-year-old Champa Ekendra Bika, according to The Hindustan Times.

Champa has complained that her husband, who is unemployed, thrashed her for not doing household chores.

Likewise, the man also assaulted his elder son, 7, using a belt last week, and beat the younger son, 5, using his fists on March 16.

He left leather belt marks on his elder son’s face while the younger one was hit hard on his head.

The younger son had to undergo a CT scan at Sassoon General Hospital.

Police said that he held his wife by the hair and banged her nose against a wall in their house, the HT report said, adding that he also punched her until she started to bleed.

Champs, who works as a domestic worker, is undergoing treatment for injuries on her face and nose.
