India’s death toll from COVID-19 climbs to 4

NEW DELHI: The country’s death toll has now reached four after a 72-year-old man died of coronavirus.

The man, who had returned from Germany via Italy, had died at a hospital in Punjab’s Nawanshahr district after severe chest pain, India Today reported.

His samples have tested positive for novel coronavirus.

The septuagenarian, who had diabetes and hypertension, tested positive after he died at the Banga community health center on Wednesday, Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) Director Jagat Ram said.

The number of novel coronavirus cases rose to 169 on Thursday after 18 fresh cases were reported from various parts of the country, according to the Union Health Ministry.
