COVID-19 death toll reaches 1,809 in Italy as 368 die in a single day

KATHMANDU: The death toll from coronavirus in Italy has reached 1,809 after 368 people died in a single day  in the European country.

Additional 3,590 new coronavirus cases have been recorded in the country, taking the total cases of the novel virus to 24, 747.

Of the total 20,603 undergoing treatment, the conditional of 6,072 people is critical, while, 2,335 have recovered after treatment, according to BBC.

The coronavirus infection has gone unabated in Italy even though the country has shut down all the border checkpoints and urged the people to undergo self-quarantine.

Likewise, Spain recorded 97 more deaths for a total of 288, and France reported 29 deaths, giving a total of 120.
