KATHMANDU: Minister for Health Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal has said that the government has decided to entrust only three hospitals of Kathmandu to treat patients testing positive for coronavirus and people showing its symptoms.
The Teku-based Sukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital, Lalitpur-based Patan Hospital and Kirtipur Hospital have been entrusted to take care of the patients related to COVID-19.
Minister Dhakal informed that the government will prepare a new building of Bir Hospital for the same.
Speaking at today’s session of the National Assembly (NA) on Sunday, Minister Dhakal said the government was preparing to add some 235 ICU beds to various hospitals in the country.
He also said that the government would competently work towards controlling the infection while urging people to refrain from panicking.
According to him, none of the 464 persons examined have tested positive claiming that the government was prepared to handle around 4,500 cases at once.
