KATHMANDU: Chairperson of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Kamal Thapa on Tuesday asserted that the unified RPP will now emerge as an alternative force in the country.

“I am confident that the new political party will emerge as a new alternative political force to the two major parties – Nepali Congress and Nepal Communist Party,” Thapa told cadres at a program in Kathmandu.

RPP, following its unification, he claimed would establish itself as an alternative force, which people are desperately want to have.

He said that his party would come up with a roadmap for the country’s prosperity and economic development while urging the party supporters and cadres to refrain from thinking that the parties were going to unite to split again.

Two political parties – RPP and RPP (United) are formally announcing their merger on Wednesday. Leaders of both the parties had on Saturday decided to unite to launch a new political party in the country.
