Failing to control my anger, I hurled a shoe at Dahal: Tiruwa



KATHMANDU: A person who hurled a shoe at Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal said he acted inhumanly as he could not tolerate Dahal’s statement on ‘class struggle’.

“I could not control myself when he (Dahal) talked about ending the social disparities,” said Ratan Tiruwa, 21, of Sinja rural municipality of Jumla.

Tiruwa, who had completed his Plus Two, hurled a shoe at Dahal at a program in the capital on Sunday.

The youth, who has been staying at a rented room at Dallu of Kathmandu, had reached the Rastriya Sabha Griha to listen to Dahal’s speech.

“I have no ill-intention toward Dahal. But I could not control myself when I listened to his speech,” police quoted Tiruwa as saying.

He also said that his entire family had been a staunch supporter of the erstwhile Maoist party. However, currently, he is not involved in any party.
