Trump says will meet Taliban leaders

WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump has said he will be meeting personally with Taliban leaders in the near future.

He asserted that it was high time that the war against terrorism was fought by someone else.

Saying that they have had tremendous success in Afghanistan in the killing of terrorists, Trump added that but it is time to go and bring our people back home.

He said that the US wants to bring its people back home. Trump’s statement comes hours after the United States signed an agreement with the Taliban in Doha.

According to the US, it would withdraw all its troops from Afghanistan in 14 months’ time.

The US has around 13,000 troops in Afghanistan currently.
