CHITWAN: The Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation is to conduct a census of the one-horned rhino in all national parks from March 14.
According to Bishnu Prasad Shrestha, Information Officer at the Department, the census would start from Chitwan National Park.
Shrestha said training for technicians for the census would be conducted at the beginning of March.
While the census will be held in Chitwan and Parsa national parks in the first phase, in the second phase, it will be done in Bardiya and Suklaphanta national parks.
Some 60 technicians and 35 elephants will be deployed for the census in Chitwan National Park. It will be completed within 20 days.
