14 summoned in Lalita Niwas land grab case

KATHMANDU: Summon notices have been issued to 14 accused in Lalita Niwas land grab case. The Special Court on Friday summoned seven accused in the land grab scam to appear before the court within 15 days.

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) had earlier issued summon in the name of seven persons including the then Managing Directors of Department of Land Reform and Management.

CIAA had issued notices to the then Managing Directors of Department of Land Reform and Management Rudra Kumar Shrestha and Mukunda Prasad Acharya, Officer Surendraman Kapali at Land Revenue Office, Dillibazar; Section Officer Dharma Prasad Gautam, Nayab Subba Jagat Prasad Pudasaini and the then Nayab Subba Yukta Prasad Shrestha.

The then Managing Director of Department of Land Reform and Management Acharya and the then Nayab Subba Pudasaini have already died. Pudasaini had committed suicide.

The court issued summon notices in the name of the then Managing Director of Department of Land Reform and Management Pushpa Raj Upadhyaya, Section Officer Indra Prasad Dhungana, the then Chief of Land Revenue Office, Dillibazar, Tikram Ghimire, Nayab Subba Tika Bahadur BC, Kharidar Jeevannath Pokharel, the then Nayab Subba Arjun Bhandari of Samarjung Company and the then Nayab Subba Shree Hari Pudasaini.

The court said it could not issue summon in the name of the then Survey Officer Mohammad Sabir Hussein as his address could not be ascertained.
