Vaccination against measles campaign kicks off

KATHMANDU: The vaccination campaign against measles, which also called rubella, has kicked off across the country from Thursday.

According to government’s plan the vaccination campaign is carried out into two phases – the first one begins from today ( February 13)  and will continue until March 13 while the second one will be conducted from March 14 to April 12.

According to Family Welfare Division, the campaign against rubella will be conducted in 34 districts of Province 1, 2 and 5 in the first phase while the second phase of campaign will be carried out in the 43 districts of Province 3, Gandaki, Karnali and Far-west Province.

Similarly, the polio drops will be administered to the children below five years of age in 19 districts of Tarai region during the campaign.
