2 aircraft standby to rescue Nepalis from China: Minister Bhattarai

KATHMANDU: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattarai has said that two aircraft are standby to rescue Nepali students from China.

Speaking at an interaction on coronavirus and its impact on the tourism sector at Nepal Tourism Board in the capital on Saturday, Minister Bhattarai said that two aircraft – one from Nepal Airlines and the other from Himalayan Airlines – are standby to evacuate Nepali students from China.

Minister Bhattarai said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has already taken information from the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu and informed that Nepali students are safe so far.

As many as 190 Nepali students are studying in Wuhan Province. India evacuated 324 Indian students from Wuhan to New Delhi this morning.

Meanwhile, he has urged one and all to disseminate messages to the international community that Nepal is safe for a visit.
