Three committees formed to contain outbreak of coronavirus

KATHMANDU: The government has formed three committees to contain possible outbreak of coronavirus in Nepal.

A High-level Monitoring Committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Minister for Health and Population Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal.

Likewise, a Directive Committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Health Secretary Khagaraj Baral and a Health Technical Committee led by Dr. Dipendra Raman Shrestha, Chief of Quality Standard and Monitoring Davison.

The new coronavirus has been declared a global emergency by the World Health Organization as the death toll from China virus climbs to 213.

The coronavirus has already spread to 18 countries including Germany, Japan, Vietnam and the United States while over 7,736 have been infected with the virus.

One person has been so far confirmed to be infected with coronavirus in Nepal.
