Pokhara to host Paragliding World Cup Asian Tour

POKHARA: The Paragliding World Cup Asian Tour and 19th Nepal Open Paragliding Championship will be held from February 23 to 29 in Pokhara.

A total of 125 pilots from 30 countries are participating in the competition organized by Nepal Airsport Association, and Nepal Paragliding and Handgliding Association in the coordination of the International Aeronautical Federation.

According to the organizers, the top five to eight winning pilots will qualify on the basis of points and rankings for the world cup.

The Tour is as part of the three tours to be organized in South Asia in 2020 to qualify for the World Cup to be held in 2021, according to the organizers.

The remaining two tours will be organized in other Asian countries.

The tour is being organized with an aim to encourage South Asian paragliding pilots to participate in the World Cup. Likewise, it is also expected to support the government’s campaign of Visit Nepal 2020.
