Man killed due to own gun fire



BAGLUNG: A man died after being hit by shrapnel released from a gun he was carrying with him in Baglung district.

The victim has been identified as Om Bahadur Gharti, 47, of Tamankhola rural municipality.

Gharti had left his home carrying a loaded-gun to chase away monkeys when he was hit by shrapnel as his gun got released all of a sudden.

He was rushed to the Zonal Hospital Baglung where he was pronounced dead, Deputy Superintendent of Police Jhabindra Bhattarai said.

He had sustained injuries to his hand and leg.

Police said they were investigating into the case whether the gun was licensed or not.
