Delhi assembly elections to be held on Feb 8



NEW DELHI: The Election Commission of India has announced the election dates for the Delhi assembly elections.

According to the Commission, elections in Delhi will be held on February 8 in a single phase. The results will be announced on February 11.

Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora said elections on all 70 seats in Delhi will be held on February 8.

Arora said that the Model Code of Conduct comes into effect in Delhi with immediate force.

The term of the 70-member Delhi Assembly ends on February 22. The previous assembly elections in Delhi were held in 2015 that saw Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejariwal sweeping the elections and winning 67 of the 70 seats. (Agencies)
