KATHMANDU: The weather has been cloudy throughout the country with light rains and snowfall due to the westerly wind.

A few places of high hilly and mountainous regions have witnessed snowfall and rains, affecting the normal life of people.

The snowfall has disrupted transportation in some places while communication and electricity have been cut off in some villages. Schools and market areas in some places of the country have been shut, forcing the locals to stay indoors due to biting cold.

Despite all these woes, the snowfall has brought cheers to tourists. The hillocks, hills and mountainous regions have been covered in the snow, beautifying their looks further.

The number of domestic and foreign tourists has been elated to play with the snow. And, of course, it has increased the number of tourists, as well.

Meanwhile, Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) has predicted light to moderate snowfall at some places of the high mountainous region and chances of heavy snowfall at a few places of the eastern and central high mountainous regions today.
