MFD predicts light rain, snowfall today



KATHMANDU: Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) has predicted light rain and snowfall at a few places in the country today.

In a weather bulletin issued for today, the met office stated that the weather will be partly to generally cloudy throughout the country.

“Light rain is possible in a few places in the country. There are chances of light to moderate snowfall at some places of the highlands,” reads the weather bulletin.

According to MFD, light to moderate rain is possible at a few places in the western region and at many places in the eastern and central regions. The weather will improve from Sunday.

“There are chances of light to moderate snowfall at some places of the high mountainous region and chances of heavy snowfall at a few places of the eastern and central high mountainous regions,” it added.

Kathmandu received 3.8 millimeters of rainfall in the past 24 hours, according to the met office.

Dipayal received the most 62.3 millimeters of rainfall and Biratnagar the least 2.8 millimeters rainfall.
