Heart attack up by 30% during winter: Dr Baidya



KATHMANDU: Is your blood pressure increasing during the winter? Consult a doctor immediately. You might lose your precious life if you ignore it.

Doctors have warned to take precaution saying that the possibility of heart attack might go up by 30 percent during the winter season.

The blood veins shrink during cold season leading to high blood pressure. High blood can also incur damages to heart veins, said doctors.

According to cardiologist Prem Raj Baidya, the heart attack might increase by 30 percent during the winter compared to the other season due to cold temperature. The chances of paralysis also might increase by 20 percent, said Dr Baidya.”

Similarly, people suffer from vitamin D deficiency in the winter due to lack of sunlight which is also responsible for cardiac arrest.
