Cold wave affects life in Banke

BANKE: Cold wave has hit normal life in Banke, forcing the residents of the district to stay indoors.

The locals prefer to remain inside their houses and come out only for urgent works since cold wave keeps sweeping the whole day.

Poverty-stricken people have been affected the most.

Communities such as Ghansiyar, Chidmar, Maganta, and Kuchbadhiya are bearing the brunt of the adverse weather as they are compelled to work to meet their basic needs.

The cold has also its implications on people with health issues, children and aged people.

Meanwhile, the district administration has issued a notice of public interest informing people about ways to prevent cold-related issues, mainly for children and aged people.

According to Kumar Bahadur Khadka, Banke Chief District Officer, the administration has sought coordination from local levels for the management of garments and firewood.

“We have urged the local units to join hands with us to arrange bonfire in various thoroughfares in Nepalgunj, Kohalpur and other places in the district,” he said.
