Internet services resume in Assam

ASSAM: Mobile internet services have resumed in Assam today after it was snapped around 10 days ago following violent protests over the new citizenship law.

According to Assam’s Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said people creating unrest in the state will not be spared, Indian media reports have said today.

He also assured that the rights of the people of Assam are safe in the wake of the anti-Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) protests in Assam.

Sonowal said that the Assamese language will be protected as a state language. “Some people are trying to spread fake news and misinformation. They are the enemy of our society,” he said on Friday. (Agencies)
