One dead, 3 injured in Chitwan truck collision



CHITWAN: A person succumbed to injury while three others sustained injuries when two trucks collided with one another at Lothar in the eastern part of Chitwan district on Monday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Arjun Jogi, 40, of Kankai Municipality-1 in Jhapa district. Jogi was the driver of the truck (Na 6 Kha 7968). He died during the treatment at the Old Medical College, according to the District Police Office, Chitwan.

The injured ones have been identified as Bir Bahadur Lopchan, 26, of Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City, Prajwal Bradewan, 20, of Morang and Som Bahadur Thing, 20, of Bagmati Rural Municipality-1 in Makawanpur district, police said.

They are undergoing treatment at Old Medical College in Chitwan and their condition is reported to be normal, police said.

Lopchan was the driver of the truck (Ba 5 Kha 8743) while Bradewan and Thing were assistant drivers of the same truck.

The incident took place at around 7:30 am when the truck (Ba 5 Kha 8743) coming from east collided with the truck (Na 6 Kha 7968) coming from the opposite direction.
