35 dead, several injured in massive New Delhi fire



NEW DELHI: At least 35 people have died in a massive fire at a factory in Delhi’s Anaj Mandi area on the Rani Jhansi Road, Indian media reported.

TV channels reported that 30 fire trucks had been pressed into the service to put out the fire.

A call about the fire was received at 5:22 AM following which 30 fire tenders were rushed to the spot.

Atul Garg, Chief Fire Officer, Delhi Fire Service told reporters that they had rescued more than 50 people, most of whom were affected due to smoke.
