Simrik Air to add two America-made choppers



KATHMANDU: Simrik Air, a private airline company, said it is adding two new Bell 505 Jet Ranger helicopters to its fleet.

The America-made Bell Textron choppers will be brought in the last week of January 2020, said Prem Thapa, General Manager of Simrik Air.

The company expects that the new five-seater (four passengers plus one pilot) helicopters would help it provide rescue operations besides providing reliable series.

With this addition, Simrik Air will have seven helicopters in its fleet.

Chairman of Simrik Air, Rameswor Thapa is currently in the United States to make a deal of the helicopters.

The addition of two choppers will also augment to its vision of providing services, especially for rescue operations during the Visit Nepal 2020, the government of Nepal’s ambitious campaign of bringing in 2 million tourists, according to Thapa.

“We have already conducted test flights of the choppers,” he said adding, “They are safe, reliable, cost-effective and high-altitude friendly.”

Simrik Air has been providing service in Nepal for the last 18 years in mountaineering, rescue, pilgrimage, sight-seeing, medevac, and cargo services to its customers.
