SAG 2019: Nepal routs Maldives by 10 wickets

KATHMANDU: Nepal has defeated Maldives by 10 wickets in the women cricket Twenty20 tournament of the 13th South Asia Games (SAG) held in Pokhara on Monday.

Chasing the 17-run target set for Nepal by Maldives, Nepal achieved the target in 1 over, without losing any wickets.

Earlier, Nepal has restricted Maldives to mere 16 runs in the women cricket Twenty20 match.

Maldives was all out in 10.1 overs thanks to the excellent performance by Nepal’s fast bowler Anjali Chand. Anjali snatched away six wickets of Maldives.

Nine Maldivian players could not secure even a single run. Abdhulla Hafsa secured four While Niyaaz Hamza made 9 runs for Maldives.

Nepal will take on Bangladesh on December 4 and Sri Lanka on December 6. Top two teams will lock horns for a gold medal.
