Vote-count update: NCP takes lead in most places

KATHMANDU: The vote counting is underway after the by-elections were over at 5 pm on Saturday. The by-elections were held to elect people’ representatives for the 52 vacant seats including a member to the House of Representatives in 37 districts. There were 247 polling centers and 537 booths.

According to the vote count results as of 7 am today, ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has taken a lead in the vote counts in most of the places.

In the local by-elections, NCP has won in many places and is taking lead in the vote-count of the House of Representatives and Provincial Assemblies.

NCP candidate Dhalendra Prasad Sherchan has been elected as ward chair of Badigad Rural Municipality.

Similarly, NCP candidate Janak Bahadur Budha Magar has been elected as ward chair  of Thabang Rural Municipality-1.

Krishna Bahadur Tamang of NCP has won ward chair of  Punarbas Municipality-3 of Kanchanpur district.

Likewise, NCP candidate Dharma Budhathoki  has been elected as ward chair of  Kumakh Rural Municipality-5, in Salyan.

Nabin Kumar Shrestha has been elected in Sundar Bazaar-2 of Lamjung.  Dev Prasad Koirala  of NCP has won in Dhulikhel Municipality-2.

Shiva Kala Rai has won ward chair in Sakela Rural Municipality-3., Khotang.

NCP candidate Shiva Bhakti Balami has won ward chair in Dakshinkali Municipality-3.

Similarly, Kedar Nath Acharya has been elected as ward chair of Indrawati Rural Municipality-8 in Sindhupalchowk.
NCP has won elections in Pauwadumba-1 in Bhojpur and Khandbari-3 of Sankhuwasabha.

Likewise, NCP has won in Adarsha-2 in Doti.

In the home town of Pushpa Kamal Dahal Chitwan, main opposition Nepali Congress has won ward chair in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-17.

In the elections held in three wards in the metropolis, NC has clinched win in all the wards. Amrit Hamal elected in Bharatpur-16 and Dev Bahadur Basnet in Khairahani Municipality-4.

In Khairahani-5, NC candidate Pratima Karki has been elected.

NC candidate Dipendra Shrestha has won in Gadimai-2 in Rautahat. Similarly, NC has won in Gorahi Sub-metropolitan City-16. Tara Bahadur DC has been elected as ward chair.

NC has won in Balawa-2 of Mahottari, Tribeni-1 of Bajura, Malarani-3 of Arghakhanchi, Surnaya Rural Municipality-1 of Baitadi.

Similarly, Samajbadi Party has won one seat in the by-elections. Shyam Babu Raya has been elected as ward chair of Haripurba Municipality-1 in Sarlahi.
