Bomb goes off in Pokhara yet again



KATHMANDU: A bomb has exploded at Deep Chandika polling center of Pokhara Metropolitan City-16 in Kaski-2 on Saturday.

This is the fourth incident of explosions in Kaski Constituency-2 carried out by an unidentified gang of people to intentionally thwart by-elections underway today. However, no human casualties were reported, a security official said.

Earlier, the explosions took place at three polling centers in Pokhara. Bombs went off at Armala, Bagmare and Nawaprabhat Secondary School voting centers.

Similarly, bombs were found at Kucheda and Kanagada of Adarsha Rural Municipality of Doti. A bomb disposal team of the Nepal Army defused them and now the vote casting is underway smoothly in the district now.

An unidentified gang of people have been carrying out explosions to frustrate the by-elections. Earlier, a bomb had gone off near the election campaign site organized by Nepal Communist Party (NCP).

By-election is taking place to elect people’s representatives for 52 vacant posts including a member of House of Representatives in a free, fair and peaceful manner.
