Fixtures of Martyr’s Memorial ‘A’ Division League unveiled

KATHMANDU: The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) on Friday made public the fixtures of the Martyr’s Memorial ‘A’ Division League Football Tournament.

As per the fixture, Machhindra Youth Club will take on Brigade Boys Club in the inaugural match.

Likewise, defending champion Manang Marshyangdi Club will face Armed Police Force in its first match. Three Star Club will compete against Jawalakhel Youth Club and Nepal Army will face Friends Club in their first matches.

14 teams will be playing a total of 91 matches at the Tripureshwor-based Dashrath Stadium.  The tournament will kick off on December 14.

Earlier while unveiling the fixtures, two clubs had opposed the fixture of the tournament.

Defending champion Manang Marshyangdi Club and Chyasal Youth Club had objected for making public the fixtures without unveiling the regulations for the tournament.

At the beginning of the program to unveil the fixtures held at the ANFA Complex in Saatdobato, officials of the teams objected asking to make public the regulations first.

In reply, ANFA General Secretary Indraman Tuladhar said the regulations will be made public on Sunday. Dissatisfied with the reply, the teams’ officials left the venue.
