SANKHUWASABHA: A teacher has been shot dead in Chirkhang of Makalu Rural Municipality-1, Sankhuwasabha.
Narkubir Khambu Rai, 36, a teacher at Kalika Basic School in Chirkhang, was shot dead on Thursday night, according to Kumar Prasad Mainali, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office.
According to police, Rai, who was staying at the school, was shot after he stepped outside to wash his hands following dinner. A police team led by Police Inspector Meghraj Aryal from the District Police Office, along with a team from the Area Police Office in Hedangnagadhi, reached the incident site shortly after the shooting.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
