KATHMANDU: Nepal will take on hosts Malaysia today in their second match of the third edition of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Premier Cup.
Nepal made a winning start to the tournament, which began in Malaysia on Sunday, defeating Bahrain by seven wickets in its opening match. The victory has boosted the Nepali side’s confidence ahead of today’s encounter.
The match between Nepal and Malaysia will begin at 7:15 a.m. Nepal have entered the tournament with the objective of winning the title and securing qualification for the 2027 Asia Cup after competing against the 10 participating teams.
The 10 teams have been divided into two groups. Nepal are in Group A alongside Bahrain, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Saudi Arabia. Group B comprises the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Singapore.
The 50-over match will be played at the YSD-UKM Cricket Oval in Bangi, Malaysia. Nepal are unbeaten in their last five ODIs against Malaysia and also defeated the hosts in two recent practice matches.
