RPP leader Shahi urges all to join hands for rescue and relief efforts



KATHMANDU: A parliamentary party leader of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), Gyanendra Bahadur Shahi, has said it is essential for all of us to work together for the rescue of the missing persons and distribution of aid to the displaces people following the August 26 devastation.

In his address to the House of Representatives meeting on Wednesday, RPP leader Shahi said it is not time to trade blames when the country if facing crisis. RPP is extending cooperation to the government in search, rescue and aid distribution to the needy ones.  He also urged the international community and state agencies to stand with government.

Shahi, however, said government as the executive authority with resources, has more responsibilities to work in the frontline of the disaster response. According to him, mobilization of federal, province and local levels together in disaster response could be more effective.

The RPP lawmaker also suggested the government that it sought help from experts and informants to efficiently conduct rescue works in the tunnels.
