KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Balendra Shah held a meeting with Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane on Monday to discuss the government’s ongoing rescue, relief and rehabilitation efforts in areas affected by the recent flooding in Rasuwa.
The meeting, held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar, focused on the response to the flooding in the Bhotekoshi River, which has affected several areas of Rasuwa.
According to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, Shah briefed Lamichhane on the government’s efforts to search for and rescue affected residents, distribute relief materials and manage the situation in the affected areas.
The two also discussed the protection of citizens, restoration of damaged infrastructure and measures needed for rehabilitation following the disaster.
During the meeting, Lamichhane raised questions about the rescue and relief operations being carried out for affected residents, as well as the restoration of damaged structures.
In response, Shah said government agencies had been mobilised at full capacity to protect lives and property, ensure easy access to relief supplies and support the rehabilitation of affected communities.
