KATHMANDU: Nepal Telecom has restored mobile services at seven additional locations in flood-affected areas, bringing most mobile BTS sites in the affected regions back into operation.
The sites restored on Sunday include the Rasuwa Border site located along the Nepal-China border, as well as Upper Sengen, Chhapthoke, Jipjipe and Gatlang sites in Rasuwa, according to Nepal Telecom.
Similarly, the Charghare and Charghare Mulabari BTS sites in Nuwakot have also resumed operations.
Nepal Telecom spokesperson Dr Kamal Lamichhane said services through the Rasuwa Border BTS site have been restored along the Nepal-China border, including Timure, the Rasuwa border corridor and the corridor from Syafrubesi to Bhotekoshi.
The Upper Sengen site will provide mobile services in Chilime, Lamagaun and Amachhongdimo-5, among other areas.
Similarly, services through the Chhapthoke site will cover Betrawati, Kauli, Trishuli 3B, Uttargaya Rural Municipality and Kispang.
The Jipjipe site will provide services in wards 2 and 5 of Kalika Rural Municipality, Dharapani and Deuralidanda.
Services through the Gatlang BTS site will cover Gatlang, Goljung, Chilime, Thulo Bharkhu, Sherpa Gaun, Thulo Syafru, Syafrubesi, Khangjum and Barim.
Meanwhile, the Charghare and Charghare Mulabari BTS sites have restored mobile services in wards 12 and 13 of Bidur Municipality.
Nepal Telecom said its technical teams continue to work in the field to facilitate communication for citizens during the disaster and that the company remains committed to ensuring uninterrupted services.
